2013 A year of amazing highs and one almighty low...

Every year I do a summary of my highlights and just when I think I couldn't top my last year, well, I pretty much threw it out of the park this year. I have had the most amazing couples and families to work with this year and even got to catch up with past couples and capture their next chapter in life.

I attended a few workshops and conferences which gave me lots of inspiration and motivation. I worked with and met some amazingly talented vendors and people. I really and truly love my job!

I took some great trips earlier in the year including Boston, Barcelona and Amsterdam. All was going amazingly, personally and professionally until my family was dealt with a massive blow at the end of November. My dad at 62, unexpectedly died much to our devastation.

Nobody can ever prepare you for losing a parent and I can't even begin to explain the impact it has had on me, probably because I still can't believe it. My dad was always there for me, my brother and my mum. I'd come in from a long wedding day and he's ask, "How'd you get on?" then I'd sit on his bed and tell him all about it. He was the go to if we needed anything done. He could put his hand to anything. He always said, "Just do your best" so I'm going to keep doing that. We are so lucky to have had a dad who loved us with all he had, was proud of us and full of support.

Photos have always been a huge part of my life and going forward they will be even more important. Who cares what we LOOK like in them. The point is these photos will be so important to those close to us in the future. All they will care about is that they can see US in them. I'm so glad I have both photos and video of my Dad. To be able to hear his voice and look back on his life in photos is precious.

So! Next year is set to be my busiest yet. I have filled my quota on weddings, perhaps with room for a few more and I plan on visiting my brother with my mum  in America. One day at a time and all that.

So with out further ado, here are my photo highlights of 2013. See you all next year and remember, whenever you see family or friends you haven't seen for a while or may not see for a while, take a photo with them.  :)

Eilionoir and Eoin's classy Vintage Dublin City wedding.

I am so in love with this next wedding. I love a good city wedding and I love even more when that wedding couple is as relaxed as Eilionoir and Eoin were. First up was City Hall for the civil ceremony. What an amazing venue for a wedding. A building so steeped in Irish history, you can still see the bullet holes on some of the statues if you look closely. Nowadays however, things are a little different and we get to see beautiful ceremonies and happy memories created in this beautifully designed building.
After the lovely ceremony there was time for a drinks reception in City Hall. We then went for a stroll in Dublin city where we stopped in places for some lovely photo ops. The happy couple went on to Fallon & Byrne to celebrate into the night :) congrats to Eilionoir and Eoin!

Bridal Shoot at Wright's Anglers Rest.

Ok this is going to be a long post so probably best to get a cuppa ;)

Not too long ago, Cat from the Cake Cuppery got in touch asking if I'd be interested in collaborating for a shoot for Confetti magazine. After seeing Cat's amazing cake creations, I thought I'd be crazy not too.

The venue for the shoot was Wrights Anglers Rest in Capelizod, a beautiful spot for a wedding by the way! On hand with their beautiful handy work was Buds and Berries with some beautiful floral arrangements, Tracey Scullion Makeup, Wedding hair by Lorraine Whelan, De stafford Bridal and models Laura and Liam who did an amazing job!

It was a fantastic day and I really enjoyed getting to work with so many talented people. :)

So enough talking more photos! Hope you like! Oh and check out the latest edition of Confetti for more pics!

Gillian & Barry's Gorgeous Dublin City Hall wedding.

I'm really pleased to show off this festive winter wedding of Gillian and Barry! I started in Gillian's family home were it was all go with lots of laughter and bubbly in the house.

The lovely couple got married in the beautiful Dublin City Hall over Christmas. What a stunning venue for a ceremony!

One of the highlights of the day was riding along in Gillian's Dad's old Morris Minor. We got some looks on the drive into town ;)

After a lovely ceremony, it was on to The Oak across the road for a quick pint before heading to a fabulous reception in the  Westin Hotel.

Wishing Gillian and Barry a wonderful life of fun and laughter in the future!

A lovely intimate ceremony in Dublin City

Now that we're back into the swing of things this January, It's time I show off some of the loveliness from December I was lucky to shoot :)

First up is a lovely small post. It was a nice dry but cold afternoon in Dublin where I joined Morag and Eamonn in the registry office for a beautiful intimate ceremony with their closest friends and family.  Then it was on to stylish Locks Restaurant  for a lovely drinks reception and meal.

I loved Morag's beautiful 1940's style. She looked truly elegant and Eamonn looked pretty smart too!

I wish them both a wonderful happy and fun filled life together. Congratulations guys!
